Metro Hotel Case Study

Bishop Insurance Services were appointed as Loss Assessors by Metro Santry Hospitality Ltd, to deal with Insurers and negotiate settlement to reinstate the existing Metro Hotel, and Apartment buildings, following extensive damage from a fire in 2018. 



The building includes 30 apartments, 88 hotel rooms, reception area, lifts, bar, dining areas, kitchen areas, conference rooms, meetings rooms, plant rooms, and stores from the basement to level 15. 

The hotel suffered substantial water damage from the fire and required the full fit-out of 24 hotel rooms, along with substantial refurbishment works to the remaining 64 rooms. All 10 floors of apartments were stripped back and all thirty apartments were reinstated and upgraded to a very high standard. The work included the replacement of the fire fitting passenger lifts, together with necessary fire prevention works and other miscellaneous works in order to comply with the relevant Building Regulations. Our primary role was to negotiate settlement for reinstating the hotel and apartments and dealing with the Business Interruption claim, along with Contents and Loss of stock. At the time, this was one of the largest claims in Ireland.
